Background:

In early 2024, we were approached by a client from Belgium who was looking for a solution to create a comfortable, quiet, and fully functional workspace within the confines of his home garden. The client, a freelance graphic designer, found it increasingly difficult to focus in his apartment due to the noise from both inside and outside his living space. The objective was clear: to build a secluded and soundproof environment in his garden where he could work without distractions. Given the harsh weather conditions in Belgium, the pod also needed to be insulated to ensure year-round comfort.

The Challenge:

Our Solution:

After understanding the client's needs, we presented a detailed solution through our Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Here’s how we addressed each of the challenges:

Soundproofing: We designed a custom insulated garden office pod using high-quality soundproof materials. The walls and floors of the pod were built with a double-layer structure, using dense sound-absorbing materials like rock wool and acoustic insulation panels. Special attention was paid to the door and window seals, ensuring they were airtight to prevent any noise leakage.

Insulation: Belgium's weather can be unpredictable, with cold winters and relatively mild summers. To ensure year-round comfort, we used advanced thermal insulation materials in both the walls and the roof. This made sure the outdoor office pod would stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Additionally, the exterior cladding was weather-resistant, providing an extra layer of protection against the elements.

Aesthetic Design: The client was keen on a design that would blend naturally with the garden surroundings. We customized the exterior with wood cladding and large panoramic windows to create a modern yet organic feel.
